Helpful Hints
After getting your plants home the first
thing we recommend you to do is water
your plants, before you plant. This helps
make sure the roots are Thoroughly
moist. Then space out and plant. After
back filling, water again. The best time
to water in early morning, about the
time the mosquito's are out looking for
you. Never water the foliage, this could
lead to fungus or powdery mildew.

Another tip is to every so often clean
the underside of your mower deck.
Wipe or spray with a bleach solution to
sterilize it. Most lawn diseases are
spread by spores, this way you are
eliminating them.

Also it is a good practice to clean your
pruners, hedge shears with a bleach
wipe. When pruning it is a good practice
to prune one variety at a time and then
wipe. Especially red twig dogwoods.
You don't need to spread canker around
your yard. Some diseases can be
spread by unsanitized pruners.

Winter is a good time to plan out
your garden needs for the spring.
Looking out the windows at the
winter landscape gives time to plan
what plants would look good.
