Never water the foliage, this could lead to fungus or powdery mildew. Another tip is to every so often clean the underside of your mower deck. Wipe or spray with a bleach solution to sterilize it. Most lawn diseases are spread by spores, this way you are eliminating them. Also it is a good practice to clean your pruners, hedge shears with a bleach wipe. When pruning it is a good practice to prune one variety at a time and then wipe. Especially red twig dogwoods. You don't need to spread canker around your yard. Some diseases can be spread by unsanitized pruners. |
